Dear friends, past clients, and future clients,
Last week, I made this post with the idea that I was doing my part by just allowing more space between myself and my client. As long as we were six feet apart, what was the harm?
Since my last post, schools have closed. California and other states are under “Stay At Home” orders. Things are changing fast and I’ve decided it is more socially responsible for me to help flatten the curve. Katie Smith Photography will not be booking sessions until the COVID-19 crisis in behind us. Many jobs are essential in our community but photographer is not one of them. Document these days with your cell phone, professional portraiture can wait.
I can still offer free consultations via web conferencing. We can plan the perfect session for your family. Everyone that books their free consultation will be able to purchase Double Value gift certificates- $125 gift certificate becomes a $250 gift certificate!
I’m offering a free parent photography class on Facebook. This is a limited time offer that will become a group or individual mentoring when we can meet in person again.
For a limited time, I’m offering my editing skills. If you have a treasured snapshot that you took but it could use a little retouching, I would love to help.
If you have any questions, please call or email me for more information.
With everything that is happening, I thought it would be prudent to say what I’m doing to protect my clients.
1. No back-to-back sessions
All of our sessions will be booked with time between each session to disinfect any props used. We’ll be taking extra precautions to wash hands before each session and disinfecting surfaces in the studio.
2. Consultations and ordering appointments available via web conferencing.
We love meeting with our clients face-to-face but if you prefer to avoid additional contact, we can offer meetings with screen sharing.
3. No hugs, high fives, or handshakes.
One of my favorite parts of the session is telling kids what a great job they did and getting that super strong high hive but for the time being, we’ll have to give an “air five.” We’ll also be doing a lot more personal space during the session and limiting contact.
4. No fee for rescheduling or cancellations.
I’ve never enforced a fee for this and I won’t start now. If you’re not feeling well or just concerned about being in public, we can schedule to later this year when all of this is over.
We don’t want to be alarmist and would love to continue business as usual but we also want to play it safe for the sake of our clients and our own loved ones. If you have any questions, comments or concerns, please email me at email@example.com
