If you’re not a photographer, you might be wondering what a vignette is.  In photography, a vignette is a editing technique that puts a border of light or darkness around the subject.  It’s sole purpose is to draw your eye to the subject.

It might be personal preference but I adore a slight vignette.  Very subtle with just a little darkness around the edges.  I think a heavy vignette contradicts the purpose; it draws the eye to the outer edges.

It’s another edition of the Military Spouse Professional Photographer blog circle!  If this is your first time hearing of a blog circle, it’s a pretty simple concept.  Each month, the group I’m in gets a theme.  Each photographer in the group then interprets the theme their own way and captures new images inspired by it.   Then on the third Friday of each month, we post on our blogs and link to the next person on the list.  If you start on my blog, you’ll visit Wind Inspired next and then she’ll link to someone else who’ll link to someone else and so on until you circle all the way back to this post.

I don't know about you but I'm not a huge fan of strangers coming to my house.  Besides the fact that the stranger is usually the cable repair man running…

I recently joined a blog circle for military spouse photographers.  It’s pretty neat how you can start with any photog in the group and travel from blog to blog and see the way they interpret the theme.  Everyone’s photos are different yet connected through a common theme.  You get a glimpse into the life and mind of each photographer.
